The Seahawks have re-signed defensive end Michael Bennett to a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal. Bennett, whose fierce pass rush helped the Seahawks bring home their first Lombardi trophy, was rated the number one free agent this year by Pro Football Focus. He was rumored to be considering a deal with the Chicago Bears, where his brother, Martellus, is a tight end. Asked in a recent interview whether the Seahawks might get a hometown discount when negotiating his contract, Bennett declared, "There is no discount. This isn't Costco...." In the end, Costco or not, Bennett admitted that though he received higher offers from other teams, he preferred to stay in Seattle. The 12th Man, said Bennett, heavily influenced his final decision. — C.H.
